Free-form amino acid L-Cysteine - 500mg.

L-Cysteine forms part of the important liver detoxification enzyme Glutathione that is critical to the removal of many toxins from the body. L-Cysteine is commonly incorporated into detoxification programmes.

L-Cysteine functions as a potent antioxidant in the body, aiding the neutralisation of harmful free radicals. L-Cysteine fulfils this function both alone and as part of the potent antioxidant enzyme called glutathione peroxidase, one of the most important antioxidant enzymes in the body.

L-Cysteine can bind to heavy metals and may thus be beneficial in aiding their removal. It is frequently employed for this role in strategies to remove heavy metals from the body.

L-Cysteine can help to break the bonds that account for the thick consistency of mucous. For this reason it is frequently used to help reduce congestion in the respiratory system i.e. nasal / sinus congestion. It is also used in cases of sinusitis.
